About Deborah M Rinaldi
I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during a time when one didnt need to lock doors and the village did truly raise the child. My earliest inspiration was my Grandfather, Charlie, who was a painter. If youve seen the posters The Doors of.. followed by the name of a city or town, it was my grandfather who painted many of the beautiful, artistic front doors in Philadelphia. He'd let me help him blend his paints in the backyard of his row home on Daly Street. My grandfather taught me the beauty of art and how to look at things differently, which led me to view the world through the lens of a camera.
As a teenager living in Southern New Jersey I worked summer jobs to save up for my first 35mm camera, a Canon AE-1. I spent a lot of time in the farms, orchards, fields, and shorelines of New Jersey shooting everything, which became rather expensive (this was well before the age of digital). I became more selective with my shots so I wasn't wasting hard-earned money developing bad photos.. However, it was from those bad shots that I learned the most valuable lessons.
I now live in Maryville, TN enjoying the beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the wildlife that it shelters. My photographs capture the beautiful essense of mother nature and human nature, from the mountains of Vermont to the shores of the Florida Keys.
My photographs are my footprints. It's the best way to let the world know I was here.
